The Advanced Search is designed to aid in the identification of a species by one or more variables: shape; habitat; region or zip code; color; and size. In each case (other than shape) one or more of the variables can be marked. (It is not necessary to use every group of variables - any one or more selections will narrow the list of species.) The result will include all species having the characteristics you have selected. Other ways to search are by name, or by Quick Guide, which sorts species by general type.
